As its quirky Paul Hodgkiss-designed furniture in thick misshapen chunks of pine clearly signposts, Jelly Hill prides itself on unconventionality. Serving standard and basic café food from morning until night, our small Hyndland haunt also functions as a local of sorts with a substantial beer and wine list attracting a faithful clutch of drinkers that includes TV and media personalities.
Our menu includes soup, sandwiches, baked potatoes and a selection of sweets and pastries. Platters of fresh cold meats, cheeses and bread make for good sharers, while changing daily specials can include Brussels pâté on toast.
A fully-opening frontage and a canopied outdoor area warmed by heat lamps add to a continental vibe, and encourages al-fresco eating and drinking almost year round.
